A Survey on Haptic Technologies for Mobile Augmented Reality

Augmented reality (AR) applications have gained much research and industry attention. Moreover, the mobile counterpart—mobile augmented (MAR) is one of most explosive growth areas for AR in environment (e.g., smartphones). The technical improvements hardware smartphones, tablets, smart-glasses provide an advantage wide use real world experience these anywhere. However, nature MAR can limit users’ interaction capabilities, such as input haptic feedback. In this survey, we analyze current issues area human-computer technologies scenarios. survey first presents human sensing capabilities their applicability applications. We classify devices into two groups according to triggered sense: cutaneous/tactile : touch, active surfaces, mid-air; kinesthetic manipulandum, grasp, exoskeleton. Due applications’ mainly focus our study on wearable each category possibilities. To conclude, discuss future paths that feedback should follow challenges.
